Square frying pan~

So I finally got my square frying pan (thanks eBay) and made some rolled omlette!

Here is a serise of photos of the process:

Pan is square~

Half cooked mixture.

Roll, roll, roll.

Finished rolling let finish cooking. Done!

Enough for dinner and my lunch.
Menu: omlette, karage chicken, japanese style mash with shitaki mushrooms, pickled vegetables and jello (two toned~)

Final note: with the power being out for half the day Saturday I went and visited my vegetable patch. I pulled out all of the dead plants and was shocked to find tha four of my eggplants were still going and even had two fruits on one plant! So I found some poles and tied the up, hopefully they keep growing happily XD

More sandwich pockets

Sandwich pockets are yummy! Especially with salmon and cream cheese ;-) a little jello, salad, crab sausage and dumplings to finish off~ though I was too lazy to do any dressings or sauces like I should have.

Dinner yum too~ though I got a little lazy on my miso and was not as good as normal :-(

Cabbage with cutney, crab sausages, salmon salad, baked fish, dumplings, mini hamburgers with tonkatsu sauce, and a little left over curry from last night.

Was nice to get back into making full meals~

Sandwich bento

Due to illness I have not made bento for a while and then eariler this week when I started back to making bento I kept forgetting to take a photo~

Well today's bento is good nice food but nothing too exciting on the presentation.

Salmon, cream cheese, grilled eggplant and cucumber sandwiches, with a boiled egg, mango jello and a small side salad.

The photo is upside down, but I was too lazy to take it again.

Crazy busy

So last night I was busy, and all to do with food! I needed to get muffins made for morning tea, dinner, my lunch and two packed bentos for dinner tonight~ going to see Avatar again tonight and not enough time to get home before movie as well as too easy to eat crap if I am not organised. Hence, packed bento dinner, but now with all this rain does not look good for my plans of dinner at the foreshore.

Will post photos of lunch before I eat it :-P

Lost sandwich press

I was bored home by myself so I started cooking up a storm ... Unfortunetly it turns Landrin does not like dango~ so there was a wasted hour... Look pretty though.

Western style lunch again:

I am not overly pleased with the layout but I had to rush as Landrin wanted to eat and had only just returned with ingredients I needed from the shop!

I have found out this morning that my sandwich press is forever lost to me T.T I know it was not their fault, but I am still very annoyed. It seems they posted to my paypal address which is old but I am too lazy to update.. I had always made sure the correct address was in eBay >.<. And now no sandwich press for me~ am prob going to pout about it all day and buy a new one tomorrow after I update my paypal address.

Bread bento

So to mix things up a little I made myself a bread bento~ my first go. I think it came out well.

Menu: ham, cheese and pickle sandwiches, sundried tomatoes, bunny egg and mixed salad with a wedge of lemon.

The bunny egg was pretty hard to get looking right, and I had to be careful with the lid as not to knock his ears off.

Dinner was gyudon (beef bowl) and my first try of this at home. I am happy with the out come but not quite ready for the beef to be placed directly over the rice, as the sauce needs more work.

Menu: gyudon, pickled vegetables, eggplant with anchovies and miso, finishing with bunny apples.

Cooking weekend

Meals I made over the weekend:

The menu is the same with only the main dish and one side dish changing. I feel this changes the meal enough to stop it getting boring.

Pickled vegetables were a great thing I found in the manga cookbook and something I shall use a lot. I added different flavours and so far chilli is best, I think it covers the salty nicely.

I want to get to the Asian imporioum this week and get some speciality ingredients!
